Camden, Lila and I started our holiday vacation in a blizzard. A normal 3 hour drive from Grand Junction to Leadville turned into close to 8 hours. We all talked, sang, cried, and threw chicken nuggets around the trusty Subaru. I think Lila fed Kenosha french fries for close to an hour. Day two of our break was designated to getting our tree. Camden picked out a perfect 9 foot pine. I wish you all could have witnessed me getting it strapped to the roof of the car, through the coffee shop lobby, up a flight of stairs and safely fastened into the stand. It is beautiful. We have hung ornaments and lights. We even decorated Henry (Nick's elk mount) with chilly lights. The stockings are out. Cookies for Santa are made. Carrots for the reindeer are bought. We are down to "Santa come now?" about 3 times an hour. I forgot how fun all this can be! Now we wait...

Birthday
Lila turns two tomorrow. It has been amazing watching her come into her own person these past couple years. I never believed that they would go so quick! We spent her birthday weekend reminding her she was two fingers now... and that when we sing to her it isn't scary. She also got good practice opening presents for Christmas. We love you tiny dancer.

Thanksgiving
Our little family of four and two "dog dogs" spent the holiday weekend in Leadville. Our vacation was spent in the mountains full of activities. We even went biking Thanksgiving morning when it started to snow and then never stopped. Then we took the kids skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding. Lila who is one (two next week) and Camden who is three soared through the pow pow. They both did great and had fun. A trip to the mountains is not complete until you have soaked your bones in the hot springs. So we did! Nick and I had a tasty feast for two since the kids only ate hot dogs and PB&J.
