Hmmm.........snow!

Alright, this blog is for our biggest fan.....Flo Flo! I apologize for not sending more pictures but we are nearly out the door for sushi at Suehiro's. Sarah's birthday always entails raw fish and big Japanese beers! Anyways, a promise is a promise so here are your pics. We haven't had snow like this in years. Mary has headed several sledding expeditions to some truly treacherous mountains. I would love to write more but I better help with the munchkin's.

Love, Nick

Lake Powell

The annual Coleman Family trip was this past week. We were lucky enough to be able to sneek a weekend of HOT fun in. It was also Mary's first time. I am still skipper sore. Camden must be also because the boy took the bumpy speedy rides inside and outside the wake phenomenally well. Kenosha may have placed 1st or 2nd in the dog fetch and swim competion. This is a mighty feat for the oldest of the pack of eight. Lila loves her shell and dental floss braclet her aunt Jojo made with her. The creativity never ends even when living on a houseboat. Nick's endless enthusiam keeps me feeling young. We kayaked, cliff jumped, hiked, swam, boated etc... all in just two days! Thanks for a fun trip guys.

Zip Line

After a memorable weekend on the White River a seed was planted. Papa Joe is notorious for his games and adventures. They have graduated to a new level. Zip lines from tree to tree for the ultimate adrenaline junkie. Nick promptly came home and made a trial one in our yard. It goes from the upper back yard down to lower field. It is close to 200 feet long. Camden loves it!

Telluride

The 36th annual Telluride bluegrass festival kicked off last Thursday. The weather was typical of the mountains....you never know what you're gonna get. But when the sun was shining the magic of Telluride surfaced and the dancin' began!

The loaded down Volkswagon embarked on its 2nd annual bluegrass adventure last Friday. Sarah drove, Mary was co-captain and I sat in back with the kids. The ride was pleasant and as we climbed in elevation the temp kept dropping. We stayed in the mountain village with our incredible hosts, Dale & Joenette. Thanks guys! The gondola ride amused myself and the kids and was the perfect mode of transportation. It got us to and from town in style flying high amongst the treetops.

The unparalleled cast of musicians amused and awed us for two strtaight days. Rain or shine the music kept on. Great music and great company!

Summer Camp

Last week Camden went to summer camp. It was his first time out in the community and away from his family. The first day was met with tears until he got in the car to go. All smiles after that. The theme was frogs and fairies. He came home with frog facts, felted stuffed frogs, fairy dust(found on the morning walk), etc... He loved it! Lila and I were able to go feed the ducks and get ice cream, just the two of us. It was facinating to see both of my children in a new light.

Roses

June has felt a little like, um well...April. The rains have been consistant. And suprisingly the temp. has not even reached the 90's. In fact, we have been basking in the 70's. Our house has an abundance of beautiful older growth. The result has been a bumper crop of roses.

Camden is 4

May birthdays are the best! Camden and his family and friends celebrated with cake and sunshine. We hit the pinata. We searched for treasures in straw. We had bag races. We rode bikes. And skateboards. Ain't life grand. Thank you for all of the Birthday wishes from near and far. On a personal note I cannot believe I have four year old.

Warming up

Hello, hello. We are overdue for an update so let me cue everyone in. G.J is officially warming up and even though I spend most my time in the mountains I do enjoy the warm weekends. Sarah and the kids run the house or should I say, run the farm. Buddy is the latest addition to the family. Buddy is a"doegie" an orphan calf that harasses us night and day. Creative name....I know, but it just fits! When the calf is not calling, it's the baby chicks. Six of them to be exact. Six little chicks that do absolutely nothing. Camden claimed the two yellow one's. They go by the name's "mac" & "cheese".

I hope everyone is well and we would love to hear from you. Summer is coming soon and Telluride Bluegrass is just around the corner. Mark your calendars!

It's a Snowman

Anyone from Colorado knows that a snowman can only be built on the right day with the right conditions. After a few days of sunshine our powder gains moisture and only then can you create "frosty". Today the conditions were right and our snow packed the way it should for a snowman.

Camden helped me roll the body and we all helped decorate. Here are a few pictures of Camden and Lila's first snowman.
